People of D-Day

Student News Net covered the 65th anniversary of D-Day in 2009 from Normandy. Hearing from D-Day veterans who were there was a learning experience like no other. The more than 150,000 soldiers who stormed the beaches, dropped from the skies, scaled the cliffs, and navigated the ships at sea were truly a band of brothers. The millions of women at home who worked at factories and ferried airplanes within the United States were truly a band of sisters. Together, the Allies liberated Europe. As the 75th anniversary of D-Day approaches, we remain committed to keeping this history alive.
